In celebration of their Lutheran heritage and Leek Pipe Organ Company’s renovation of the beautiful pipe organ, Akron’s Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is holding a special event, details f which are listed below.
On Sunday, June 25th, come and celebrate with a day of education and music which features famous, not-so-famous, deceased and living artists who share a connection as people of the Lutheran faith. Some of the featured artists include Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Michael Burkhardt, and more!
Along with these solo organ works, instrumentalists and singers (mostly Lutherans) will help lead the audience in singing a few Lutheran hymns/arrangements.These amazing musicians are joining with Ruth Anderson to mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

- Oboist: Theresa Procopio
The day’s schedule is as follows:
- 11:00-11:45 am – Master Organ Builder James Leek will offer an educational presentation in the sanctuary, explaining the recent work on the instrument. In an ‘organ crawl,’ the attendees will see the pipe chambers up close. James will also share plans for the second phase of renovations.
- 11:45 am- A light luncheon will be served in room 202.
- 12:30 pm- Organ recital! An ice cream sundae reception will follow in Chapel Lounge at about 1:40 pm.
