Office and Shop Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Office and Shop Assistant's primary responsibilities will be administrative, communications, marketing, customer relations and shop operations (including tuning, restoration etc.) projects as determined by the owners of the company. Other duties as needed may be assigned.

The Assistant will be expected to work a minimum of 10 hours a week at a mutually agreed pay rate. The Assistant must be willing to travel with the organ tuners or owners to customer locations to assist with ongoing tuning, restoration, education or marketing projects. The assistant must also have a valid driver's license and ability to drive company vehicle to customer locations independently.

When restoration projects are underway there may be times when you may be asked to assist with such restoration projects, tuning assignments and transportation of pipe organ components using the company van to and from the workshop.

The Assistant will work independently, at the shop offices (in Oberlin and North Olmsted) as mutually agreed upon at the time of hire.

Qualifications:
Some work may involve assisting with lifting of parts and materials. Strong computer (especially with applications of word processing, spreadsheets, power point, database), web, presentation skills, organizational and budgeting skills are a requirement for this job.

This job calls for a fair amount of independent judgment and confidentiality. The incumbent will need to sign a confidentiality agreement (a copy for their reference can be made available.) as a requirement for this job.

The Assistant must be self motivated and must possess excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Since the work of the company concerns music, the Assistant must be able to play an instrument or have an appreciation of classical western music and musical instruments in general.

AIO Certification preferred. If incumbent does not currently have this certification they will need to obtain it within a year of joining the firm. The company will support with certain expenses in obtaining this certification.

A valid driver's license is a requirement for this position.

Work Experience:
Prior experience in a private/public company, church/religious organization or not for profit organization would be beneficial.
